Every year since 1901 the Nobel Prize has been awarded in December in Stockholm for achievements in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine and literature. The prices were established by inventor Alfred Nobel, through his will from 1895. Each Nobel Prize is regarded as the most prestigious award in its field. Each prize consists of a medal, personal diploma, and a cash award of 9 million SEK in 2017.
For this event the men should wear a tailcoat and a dress shirt with accompanying waist coat and a white bow-tie. Read about the dress code White tie. Popular Stockholm stores for purchasing your dress shirt and accessories are NK Herrekipering, Hans Allde, Ströms and Stenströms Flagship store that all sell lots of dress shirts to both Nobel Prize winners and guests for the ceremony and the Nobel banquet. Stenströms shirts tend to be the obvious choice.
