Our Materials
A mindful choice of materials has been at the core of Stenströms since 1899. Aesthetics, comfort and durability guide our designers in their creative process when they design our collections. Together with a timeless design, the choice of high-quality materials gives the garment potential to last for a long time and be inherited by future generations. We almost exclusively use natural materials. Cotton, linen, silk and wool are some examples, but we also see opportunities in increased availability of new innovative and more environmentally friendly materials. Cotton
A natural material consisting of seed hair fiber from the cotton plant. Cotton is versatile and has many beneficial characteristics.
Linen
A durable plant-based material with high comfort. Its breathability gives the linen garments a light and airy feel.
Wool
In our knitted garments we use different types of high-quality wool yarns, from some of the most respected suppliers in the world.
Viscose & Lyocell
Cellulosic materials made from wood pulp. Viscose and lyocell fabrics have a hand feel close to silk and drape beautifully.
Technical Materials
Sometimes synthetic fibers may be used to enhance the performance of a product. Our technical jersey shirts have a unique elasticity.
Mother of Pearl
MOP buttons have fantastic luster. The material is extracted from the inner layer of the pearl oyster's shell, where the pearl is formed.
Silk
Mostly known for its exclusive feel and beautiful luster. Mulberry silk is considered one of the world's most luxurious materials.
