What is cotton satin with mechanical stretch?
Our most popular women's shirt is crafted using the satin binding technique, composed of cotton satin and mechanical stretch (XLANCE®/LYCRA®). Satin binding is a weaving technique where longitudinal and transverse threads cross each other in a way that creates a smooth, soft and sheen surface.
We use XLANCE® and LYCRA®, which are mechanical materials that provide the fabric with a touch of extra stretch, enhancing the shirt's comfort. XLANCE®, featured in the majority of our classic Stenströms shirts, is a new, eco-friendly variation of elastane.
